Description
The Wrap Around Seal (WAS) tape consists essentially of intumescent graphite strips protected by a plastic cover. The plastic cover is fitted with double-sided tape at one end for easy assembly during installation. The tape is also available in rolls of 10 meters without the protective plastic cover. Wrap Around Seal Strip (WASS) is cut to the required length and attached with tape during installation. When the tape is attacked by fire or temperature above 120° C, its swelling body expands rapidly and, under high pressure, effectively seals the collapsing plastic pipe. To ensure tightness against all flue gases, the gap between the pipe and the wall/floor should be sealed with FireStop Sealant 3000 silicone adhesive or FireStop 400 acrylic sealant.
Area of use
Fire tape Wrap Around Seal (WAS) is used around plastic pipes such as PVC, PE and ABS etc. for water, sewage, central vacuum cleaners and the like that go through fire cell separating building elements. The tape is cast into the existing building elements easily with concrete or similar product. The tape can also be used for copper and steel pipes together with Armaflex and cables in bundles.
