Fire Barrier
Fire seal for ventilated eaves & facade
Swelling
In connection with fire and heat development, all or part of the product swells and expands.
Water resistant
The product is water repellent and can therefore be applied in aggressive environments, such as outdoors.
Description
Fire Barrier is a fire protection system for ventilated eaves and ventilated facades consisting of a graphite-based intumescent strip that expands in case of fire. Fire Barrier is a safe and cost-effective solution to prevent the spread of fire where you want to keep the ventilated air gap open.
Area of use
Fire Barrier is a fire protection system for ventilated eaves and ventilated facades consisting of a graphite-based intumescent strip that expands in case of fire. Fire Barrier is a safe and cost-effective solution to prevent the spread of fire where you want to keep the ventilated air gap open.
Properties
The fire seal consists of a graphite-based intumescent tape that expands strongly up to 50mm and seals completely in case of fire.
The graphite material starts to expand already when the temperature exceeds 140°C
The intumescent tape is forgiving to unevenness in the air gap.
Fire Barrier is third party tested at RISE test laboratory (Research Institutes of Sweden) according to standard EN1364-6;201x, up to the equivalent of 60 min.
Installation
The installation must be carried out in combination with FireSeal’s metal mesh FireNet, which prevents flames from finding their way through the eaves in the initial stage of the fire, or when installed in the facade, up through the air gap before the graphite in Fire Barrier has had time to expand fully. FireNet also acts as an insect net.
Fire Barrier is stapled, screwed or nailed directly to the substrate in the air gap.
Only four fixing points are required per meter, making installation quick.
Place the intumescent strip in the air gap between the rafters or against the wall of the ventilated facade.
